Ocean views, island architecture and stylish décor set the scene at accommodations around the island of Key West Florida. With names ranging from Waldorf Astoria and Margaritaville to Hilton, Hyatt and Marriott, Key West accommodations include luxury resorts, boutique hotels, intimate inns, guest houses, cottages and vacation rentals.

Hotels and other accommodations feature amenities such as pools, spas, shuttle service, bicycle rentals and much more. While there are some hotels that have a beach, very few are located right on the water. The island is very small, and visitors are often surprised to learn that it doesn’t have the wide expansive beaches found in other areas of Florida and the FL Keys.

Consider Key West vacation rentals for a unique alternative to the traditional hotel or resort. This is the perfect option for those traveling with a group. Most condos and vacation homes will have full kitchens and other convenient amenities not found in a hotel. Some have private pools while others have a shared pool.

Key West is very open and diverse, and it is equally welcoming to families, couples, groups and those traveling with pets. There are some exclusive Key West gay friendly accommodations, but most are welcoming to all. You can also find adults only guest houses and Key West inns.

Check into a hotel, inn or Key West guest house along Duval Street to be close to all of the action and nightlife. You’ll have the benefit of being able to walk to restaurants, shops and attractions such as the nightly sunset celebration at Mallory Square.

Be sure to ask about parking when making hotel reservations. The Old Town area, which is a popular spot, has narrow streets and limited parking. Some hotels may have on-site parking while others offer nearby off-site parking.

Rates are higher in the high season, which is typically Christmas through April. Lodging rates are often much lower during the summer months. You’ll also find higher rates during holiday weekends and special events like Fantasy Fest. During fall and early December, the island is cooler, the streets are less crowded and hotels have lower rates.
